Lucky Cat Podcast - Aowen Jin Interview Sept 2013

If you missed last Friday's special edition here's the podcast.  I had a wonderful time talking to the passionate and knowledgeable artists Aowen Jin.  I do hope you enjoy listening.

Great show, Zoë! Super fascinating. Reminded me a bit of Connie Chan's "factory girl" persona during 1960s Hong Kong. Her characters often exhibited a great deal of mobility and mutability. And I really like Aowen's approach of showing these girls as not just objects of Western liberal pity but as agents of personal and social change. Wish I could see the show. I'd especially love to see one of those tricked out mobile phones!

Thanks Dave, glad you enjoyed the programme. I went to the private view this week and really enjoyed interacting with the actual phones, it made me feel more connected to the lives of the girls. The documentary should be online soon and I'll post the link. Aowen is a force of nature, what a brilliant guest! Hope to have her back on the show at some point. Talking of which I hope to be back on the radio in a regular slot...watch this space....
